At first glance, it seems like a no-brainer. The Moza R12 has 2.25x more torque (12Nm vs 5.5Nm) and is essentially the same hardware as its predecessor, the R9. If you're looking for raw power, the R12 would win on paper.
I've seen users praise the Moza R5 Bundle for being a great starter setup, but don't be fooled - there's a reason it's cheaper. Quality control issues are rampant: bent and unusable pedals, faulty QRs that need to be replaced, and inconsistent performance with even the most basic FFB settings. It's like they're trying to make you think the R5 is some kind of budget-friendly gem when in reality, it's just a cheaply-made, unreliable piece of hardware. The R12 might have its own issues, but at least it has more power - and users are reporting that even with 10+ hours of playtime, it doesn't overheat or throttle like the R9 does. But then there's the elephant in the room: Moza's customer service is basically non-existent when you try to address these problems.
For anyone serious about Sim Racing, I'd recommend avoiding the Moza R5 Bundle like the plague. It might be a good starting point for casual players who just want something to mess around with, but if you're looking for a real gaming experience, don't waste your time (or money). The Moza R12 is still far from perfect - thermal issues and questionable build quality are still concerns - but it's the only logical choice if you need that extra oomph.
